Dr. Juan Pablo Rodríguez is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). He is Civil and Environmental Engineer and Master in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes and holds a PhD degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London. He has been leading different research projects aiming at providing tools for Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) planning in developing contexts. His research work was nominated to the Novatech Trophies in 2016 (planning strategies category) and was also highlighted in a keynote presentation at the 14th IWA Leading Edge Conference on Water and Wastewater Technologies in 2017. Since 2017 he is member of the Joint Committee on Urban Drainage of the International Water Association and the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research.

El proyecto tiene como objetivo reunir las condiciones optimas en montajes de techos verdes para asegurar una regulación y calidad optima de la escorrentía de agua. Los objetivos epecificos son: 1. Evaluar plantas nativas comunes con diferentes formas de vida para formar la capa vegetal de experimentos en modulos (arbusto rastrero, herbaceae paja, herbacea ramificada, rosetta); 2. Evaluar diferentes composiciones de sustratos con contenidos minerales e organicos variados; 3. Analizar y monitorear la capacidad de retención hidrológica, y la calidad del agua generada por escorrentía.
