Job description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), in Bogotá, Colombia, invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position. We seek an engineer able to teach and conduct research in the broad fields of hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources in urban environments, ideally with knowledge on geographic information systems.
Expected qualifications
A doctoral degree is required for this position; however, consideration will be given to applicants that are currently pursuing their doctoral degree and will complete it shortly. Applicants must have proven ability in carrying out scientific and applied research projects. This includes the ability to develop and sustain an active research program with external funding. Teaching ability and commitment to teaching are essential. Spanish is not essential for the application, but it will be expected as a teaching language after the first year.

Screening and recruiting schedule:
· May 27th, 2022; deadline for submission of candidates’ letters of interest and CVs.
· June 24th, 2022; selected candidates will be invited to make oral presentations in front of the department committee. Candidates are expected to discuss their backgrounds and to present their academic and research work proposals.
· The anticipated starting date is between November 2022 and January 2023.
